PIDCI Mrs. Kalayaan 2015

Rose Mejia Richman was crowned 2015 Mrs. Kalayaan during the Pageant and Gala Night last April 25, 2015 at The Astoria World Manor in Astoria Queens.
Now on its fourth year, the Mrs. Kalayaan Pageant is a popularity contest for married or formerly married Filipino/Filipino-American women who embodies the ideals of a role model for women today and the young women of tomorrow.

Rose hails from Cagayan de Oro City and is a proud “lumad”- a true representative  of one of the indigenous peoples of Mindanao. A Certified Nurse Assistant since 1997 (she is also a businesswoman involved in real estate) , the humble beauty stated that she is proud of her heritage and will support the PIDCI in their efforts to promote the country during her reign. She would like to focus on her advocacy in helping others in anyway possible. She would like to use her title to help raise awareness of the plight of the indigenous peoples of Mindanao.


She will receive a round trip ticket to the Philippines and participate in the 10th Annual Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors Tour to the Philippines courtesy of Philippine Airlines. She will also share the honor of being the central figure of the parade, together with Diwa ng Kalayaan 2015 Katherine Campbell at the  Philippine Independence Day Parade in Madison Avenue on June 7, 2015.

Angelina Dogillo Haboc, a Registered Nurse and former Miss Casiguran in Sorsogon, was crowned Mrs. Kalayaan- Filipino-American 2015 and won Best in Evening Gown and Miss Photogenic.

Mister World 2012/13 Francisco Javier Escobar Parra was among the judges that evening. He was joined by fellow Wilhelmina model Chris Moore; choreographer Virgie Alvarez and Filipino Reporter’s Manny Caballero.

The pageant was hosted by Antero Martinez and the lovely Dr. Mariliz Guerrero Policarpio, a former Miss New Jersey-America runner-up and Mrs. Philippines-America 2010 winner.
